The 2010 Oklahoma State Championship Motocross Series was set to kick off this weekend February 5th, 6th, and 7th. A recent ice and snow storm has pushed back the opening round one week until February 12, 13th, and 14th. The first round of ten will take place at Reynard Raceway in Wellston, Oklahoma. Reynard Raceway, formerly known as Sooner State Cycle Park until it was recently purchased by Oklahoma's own motocross legend Robbie Reynard. Robbie has decided to scale back his racing and begin to concentrate on his motocross schools and the race track.
This year's series has picked up two new facilities to it's already excellant list of tracks. Valley Motorsports in Talihina, Oklahoma will host round 9 of this years series in June. Angel Ridge Mid-America Race Park in El Reno, Oklahoma will be the last round finishing the end of June. Sand Valley MX in Bartlesville will not return this year as they have decided to seize their operations of a motocross track. A big thanks needs to go out to the boys at Sand Valley as they have done a great job over the last few years hosting a round of the OSCS.
The series has continued to increase in the number of riders participating over the last couple of years. It is not uncommon to find 500 to 600 entries at each round. Riders from all over the South Central Region have continued to support the sport of motocross even when the economy is in shambles. Look for the 2010 OSCS schedule on the Race/Practice Calendar.
